The freezing temperatures are an invitation to stay home, relax and bake something delicious. From all the options you have, you can go wrong with lime pie, as it's already a classic that you can't miss during winter. That's why at Great Harvest in Butte, we would like to share a simple recipe to prepare this amazing treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups condensed sweetened milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1 stick butter, at room temperature
  • 4 limes
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream

Mix

Use a mix bowl to stir in the cracker crumbs, butter and cocoa. Pour the ingredients into a springform pan and make sure to cover the bottom and edges. Bake the dough for about 10 minutes at 300 degrees. Allow it to cool and refrigerate afterwards.

Lime

Wash your limes and grate them until you get 2 tablespoons zest. Squeeze the limes and set aside. Now, blend the heavy cream, condensed milk, lime juice and zest in a mixing bowl; remember that you should whisk it thoroughly until thick. Take your crust out of the refrigerator and pour the mixture into it.

Serve

Put your pie in the refrigerator and allow it to chill for at least a day. To finish you can sprinkle grated chocolate on it and serve immediately before it softens. Sharing this delicious pie with your loved ones is a great way to forget about the freezing temperatures outside. Another amazing thing you can't forget during this season is baking oatmeal cookies, so be sure to read this previous post.
